Each indoor space has direct access to our outdoor environments, allowing children to move freely between indoor and outdoor play, based on their interests and needs. Our flexible routines are tailored to the diverse needs of each age group, supporting children to thrive at their own pace.
It’s common for a child to experience separation anxiety when they first start child care. When you’re getting ready to start child care, you can help your child overcome anxieties by long daycare kindergarten visiting the child care service together for a Stay and Play session, and easing into new routines at home. Our Family Support team can also help you find more G8 early learning centres near you, with the same offerings at the Great Beginnings centre you are interested in that have immediate availability. Our Family Support Team will add your child’s name to our waitlist if one of our childcare centres is currently full in your child’s age group.

Here at Belmont Bayswater Kindergarten we have strong connections with the community and local school networks. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day. I began working in early childhood education in 2020 and joined the Bayswater team in 2025. My background includes a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) and a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education. I started my journey as an Early Childhood Teacher, then stepped into a Curriculum Leader role in 2023, and have been a Centre Manager since September 2024. Great Beginnings uses Xplor Home as our family communication app.
Here, they can build friendships, practise routines and learn through play in a social, structured and supportive environment – skills that help lay a strong foundation for school and beyond. Our 4-year-old kindergarten program builds on the skills developed in the 3-year-old program, focusing on school readiness, emotional intelligence, and fostering a love for learning. Our qualified Early Childhood Teachers, registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT), create a play-based environment that nurtures creativity, problem-solving, and resilience. At Bayswater Childcare and Kinder, our early learning programs are designed to give children the best start in life. Our 3 & 4 Years Old Kindergarten program are eligible for the Victorian Government’s kindergarten funding.

“Council has an important role to play in planning and supporting services for  our youngest residents and their families, and the best way to do this is not always by being a direct service provider. We need to balance kindergarten services against every other service to determine the best way to deliver value for our whole community. “There are big changes coming for kindergarten as part of the state government’s decision to increase hours, make kindergarten free and offer a second year of kindergarten before school.
In common with most nurseries, we will ask parents to pay for these so we can continue to provide the very best care and experiences. Our centres have gardens and natural outdoor spaces wherechildren can create, explore, be imaginative and expressive. There’s plenty ofroom to safely run about, being imaginative and physically active.
