That means the greater Tokyo area is home to 25% of Japan's population, and it's the most populous metropolitan area in the world.

If two contiguous medical care zones both had dental schools, they were not counted as a neighbouring zone. The influence of a dental school on the number of dentists in neighbouring zones was calculated by dividing the number of dentists in the neighbouring zone by that in the dental school zone. The number of dentists per 100,000 population was calculated for each medical care zone and displayed on a map using colour scales according to density17. We could not directly obtain data on the secondary medical care zones; therefore, the figures were calculated based on the municipalities and primary medical care zones within each secondary medical care zone.
Ukyo means the right side of the emperor's whereabouts, that is. Taito Ward’s largest station, the hub station of Ueno, is accessed by six different train/subway lines in addition to a handful of Shinkansen lines. There are a wide variety of shops and restaurants around the station, including Ameyokocho, a stretch of road lined with shops and izakayas . Adjacent to the station is Ueno Park, a large public park that is host to various seasonal events and is a very popular location for cherry blossom viewing in the spring. Other notable features of Ueno Park include a selection of Tokyo’s museums, Shinobazu Pond , the pagoda of Kaneiji, and Ueno Zoo.
This is one of Japan's 47 prefectures and it is the most populous by far - Kanagawa immediately south of Tokyo has about 9.2 million people. If you look at a satellite image of the wider metropolitan region that includes Tokyo, Yokohama and many other places and then calculate a population for that continous urban area, you'll get one big figure. If you calculate the population of Tokyo based on the commuter zone you'll get another big number. If you calculate it at the prefecture level you get another, lower, figure and if you use the '23 Special Wards' definition of Tokyo you get another figure. It is likely that heavily used roads or urban business districts affect the pattern of distribution, configuration, and size of home ranges of the raccoon dog.
The local food specialty of the area is chanko, a high-calorie hot pot dish that sumo wrestlers consume every day. Roppongi district is part of Minato City, on the central east side of Tokyo. The nightlife here is bustling, with many small bars and a number of nightclubs popular among Tokyoites as well as internationals. You will also find a number of art museums, Michelin-starred restaurants, and lots of luxury shops here.
