If you’re driving to Kenting National Park, this is fastest to go this way. Reaching the west coast, you’ll then drive to Kenting via Checheng and Hengchun. Driving from Hualien to Taitung, you’ll have to choose between inland Highway 9 or the more remote Highway 11 on the coast. Both are very scenic and perfect for road trips. Consider driving one highway on the way down to Taitung and a different highway on the way back to Hualien.
